Pioneering Clean Energy Solutions: Transforming Biogas into Sustainable Power for a Greener Future

Robeson County Landfill

  • Gas Source: Landfill Gas
  • Flow Rate: 600 - 800 scfm
  • Location: St. Pauls, NC

Robeson’s Sustainable Approach: Biogas Electricity Generation Enhanced by GraniteFuel’s SRT Installation

Robeson’s waste-to-energy project is using biogas to produce enough electricity to power more than 900 homes. The 450 acre landfill contains over 48 wells at a depth of 35 feet which yields approximately 600+ standard cubic feet per minute of biogas. When the site expanded to add a second engine they also decided to cut down on their maintenance costs by adding a GraniteFuel SRT at the same time.

Features

  • Condensate removal (drip trap with day tank) tied to leachate
  • Expandable capacity without any future onsite modifications
  • Residual gas reintroduced into system
  • System built out of 316 stainless steel
  • Modular skids designed for quick installation

SRT System

System Configuration: Dual Vessel SRT
System Footprint: W: 200” x L: 200” x H: 82” (3 skids)
Regeneration Timeline: Approx. 6-8 hrs per 72 hour period
Regeneration Air: Vented to atmosphere through flare
Pressure Drop: 0.5 PSI
